Group 1 with Mr Topham

After another great night’s sleep we all woke up full of energy and to a beautiful, crisp morning. Our instructor James felt it was the perfect weather for a longer than normal canoeing session. We were really lucky because we got to canoe all the way out to St Herbert’s island in the middle of Derwent Water lake. Usually primary schools don’t get to go that far but we were up for the challenge and succeeded in reaching the island and exploring what it had to offer. After lunch and hot chocolate we made our way back to the jetty and came back to the Derwent Hill grounds to take part in the high ropes’ leap of faith. It was excellent to see everyone attempt to reach the top and jump for the trapeze bar. Mr Topham was super proud of everyone today.
