Today we became Orienteers. We used maps to find markers around the grounds. Susannah and Harry were champions, as they were the only pair to locate all of the markers. Well done to them! After lunch, we donned our wet suits, and then we headed off to do some gorge walking. We scrambled our way up the gorge, and then crawled through a tunnel under the road. A fantastic day was had by all. After that, we headed back to the house for a well earned hot shower and Roast Dinner.

Mountain walk day today. We traversed through Honiston Quarry and up to the summit. We all had a challenging but very enjoyable day.

Group 4 with Mrs Finlayson
Yet another exciting day. After breakfast, Bobby was nominated as our team photographer, for our orienteering challenge. Following lunch, it was then off down to Derwentwater to have a fun filled afternoon canoeing. We even managed to stop off for hot chocolate and ice cream at the marina cafe before paddling back to Derwent Hill.
Group 6 with Miss Bowey
Today we went for a morning walk into Keswick and looked around the market. We loved visiting the chocolate shop!

After lunch we went canoeing again. Then some of us were brave enough to jump into Derwent Water, we were absolutely soaked!
Team G.O.A.T Thursday
Children have had an action-packed day: 'Death Swing' and low ropes course this morning and rock climbing this afternoon. Just having our sticky toffee pudding before packing and disco.
Group 1 with Mr Topham
On our penultimate day we spent the morning gorge walking which was absolutely amazing. Everyone jumped into the plunge pool at the end and crawled through the tiny tunnel. Sorry for the lack of photos, I gave the children the choice of me taking photos or jumping in with them and you can guess what their choice was! We came back to the centre to get dry and warm and then had a go on the Gladiator challenge. I’m so proud of the fantastic can do attitude this group have had all week. Our instructor has said we have achieved a lot more because of this. All 10 have been a credit to the school and to you!

Group 6 with Mr Crow and Miss Bowey
We had an exciting start to the morning because we jumped on the minibus and went gorge walking. We got absolutely soaked and it was so much fun! We worked as a team and overcame the challenge. Then after lunch we got our Death Swing slot and took to the tree tops for some adrenaline filled swings. Sadly Mr Crow has returned to School and Miss Bowey has arrived to take over as our group leader.

Group 5 with Mr Thornton
We started off the day this morning with the Death Swing which everybody loved. Some of us even had 3 goes! We conquered our fears which was excellent. We then built a fire together and toasted some marshmallows. Yum! After lunch we made our way down to Derwent Water for an afternoon of canoeing. Fantastic day all round.

Group 4 with Ms McQuillin
Mountain day today! We tackled Cat Bells and what an excellent day we’ve had. We got off the minibus near some old mines and spent some time looking for special stones and learning about the different local stones you can find near the mountain. We then scaled some challenging terrain but succeeded and really enjoyed the stunning views from the summit. We participated in some Philosophy for Children at the top also, debating some interesting topics. We then came back down the mountain and stopped for ice cream. Delicious. We ended the day brilliantly by journeying back to Derwent Hill on the ferry.
